I was a member of the Innovative Global Solutions Enterprise with the main task of designing, and constructing, the poly-carbonate packaging for a pandemic ventilator. I am currently a member of the Michigan Tech Open Sustainability Technology Lab working on using recyclable material as filament to 3D-print prosthesis.

I now work at DEKA Research and Development as a Validation and Verification Test Engineer, where I am able to use the engineering skills I have obtained to help create medical devices.
The recyclable material was run through a device known as the Recyclebot. This device was created by a previous student to allow the use of any material to become filament to use in a 3D-printer. The link below shows the details about the Recyclebot.

The filament is then inserted into the 3D-printer. For this project, the Lulzbot TAZ 6 is being used with a special head called the Lulzbot TAZ Aerostruder Tool Head. This type of head allows for flexible filament to be used in the machine.
