Hi McArdle,

Welcome to the Appropedia wiki. Please make yourself at home! If you need a general wiki-tutorial, see the main help page (or the more in-depth one on WikiEducator).

Check your preferences and be sure you verify your email address and turn on email notification if you'd like it -- you can find out when your talk page, or any page on your watchlist, is modified. You may want to upload a photo or information about yourself to your userpage (which is at https://www.appropedia.org/User:McArdle).

If you have a particular interest or project in mind, go ahead and start it! If you have questions or suggestions, the best place to leave them is at our community discussion page, which we call the Village pump - you should get a fast response. Or, feel free to leave me a note on my talk page if you have further questions, need help finding your way around, have a cool idea for a project, or just want to chat.

Glad to have you here!

Rocket stove[edit source]

Hi McArdle,

Thanks for your contributions. I see that you've copied Rocket Stove from Wikipedia - did you have plans to develop the article in some way? Note that we try not to duplicate Wikipedia, but rather develop more practical content. See Appropedia:Appropedia is different from Wikipedia if you want more detail, or feel free to contact me on my talk page.

But feel free to experiment and find what works. It's all still developing. --Chriswaterguy · talk 04:51, 17 January 2008 (PST)

Wiki formatting[edit source]

Note that you can link another Appropedia page using double square brackets. The easy way is to enter (paste) the page name, select the text, and click the link button above the edit box (Ab underlined, 3rd from the left).

Help:Contents, available via "Help" in the left sidebar, gives more details if you need more info. Again, don't hesitate to ask. Or just do as you're doing, and dive in, which is great.

btw, good work starting and developing Parabolic Solar Cooker - it's good to have a page on that as a topic, as well as the specific projects. --Chriswaterguy · talk 04:59, 17 January 2008 (PST)

Ahhh...[edit source]

Curt just pointed out that you're Patricia McArdle - fantastic to have you here! I was really interested in the "US AID stove testing manual and solar cookers" emails, and look forward to seeing more of your work. --Chriswaterguy · talk 18:50, 17 January 2008 (PST)

WAPI[edit source]

Hi,

Thanks for adding the WAPI page. I want to implement something like that on a program I am working on. The page on the Solar Cooking wiki says to contact Bob Metcalf for some of the wax. What is the best way to contact him?

Thank you, --Lonny 13:55, 17 March 2008 (PDT)
