Pardis Ghavami

Hi! My name is Pardis and I have a BSc in software engineering from the University of Kurdistan. I am seeking an opportunity where I can continue my studies for a graduate degree in which I can gain more knowledge and experience in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision.

BACKGROUND

I graduated from the University of Kurdistan with a BSc in software engineering and a GPA of 3.7/4. I have a keen sense of programming and problem solving, which has assisted me in developing efficient and accurate algorithms in both my academic and professional lives. With a keen interest in broadening my horizons in the fascinating world of computer science, particularly AI and machine learning, I believe I would thrive on such an opportunity to obtain more knowledge and experience.
I got familiar with machine learning during my undergraduate studies, where I passed three courses with A+ regarding data science and learned how to use machine learning models, python libraries, and tools such as BlueSky Statistics, RapidMiner, and Tableau to scrap, mine, process, analyze, and visualize data. In addition, I received several Kaggle certificates for completing a number of courses, including intro to machine learning, intermediate machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision. I am familiar with regression and classification ML problems, as well as how to build a model for training and prediction using Python libraries such as Sickit-Learn, Keras, and TensorFlow. I have also learned about deep neural networks and image processing with convolutional neural networks. My education in this field is ongoing, as I constantly read a lot of interesting completed research and look for courses that are more informative. My ambition is to work on real-world projects and conduct research in machine learning field.
Furthermore, while working remotely as a part-time frontend developer at PaperScore at Texas, I have experience in web development for almost two years, working with frameworks such as Django, Next.js, React.js, Tailwind, etc. as well as content management systems such as WordPress. Furthermore, I have developed many small and large programs in Python, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, and so on. A highlight of them includes an AI chess game that uses an Alpha-Beta heuristic algorithm to prune the game tree, as well as a task scheduler that assigns N tasks with deadlines to M nodes, each with a cost, by implementing five different AI algorithms and demonstrating the output's efficiency by drawing a graph. I also created a custom data structure with linked lists for storing, adding, and multiplying multivariate polynomials, a text encryption/decryption tool using Huffman code, and a simple chat application using socket programming.
