Notes for Improvement[edit source]

General Notes[edit source]

  • Use the Practivistas Dominicana/Page template and criteria page for as a formatting template, and refer to it for specific grading criteria.
  • Pay careful attention to the grading criteria, and be sure to make any changes based on the feedback in the "Older Notes" section that haven't been made yet.
  • Create your page with the thought in mind that no one knows anything about your system unless you provide them with information on your page. (Photos of specific components when referring to those components helps a lot.)
  • A graph showing payback time would be very interesting for your project.

Abstract[edit source]

  • The abstract should not state what each section is about, but rather it should be a very concise summary of your entire project.

How to Recreate[edit source]

  • Be as specific as possible. (How do you determine the specifics for an inverter, charge controller, etc.?)
  • Was there a link to the spreadsheet you've created? (See "How to Size the System - Step 2") Having that spreadsheet available would be greatly helpful to anyone wishing to size a system.
  • What order did you connect your system in? Wasn't it batteries first?
  • Why might you chose batteries in series vs parallel?
  • More information on system considerations, like how to determine wire sizing would be helpful.

Operation[edit source]

Maintenance[edit source]

  • Explain how to maintain. (How do you clean the panels? How do you know if the batteries have died or lost their capacity? etc.)

Instructions[edit source]

  • Instructions are much easier to follow with pictures. (What do the solar system switches look like? Where are the solar system outlets? How/where do you turn on the inverter?)

Older Notes[edit source]

Abstract[edit source]

  • Absract should include summarized information from each section (about a sentence per section).
  • It's not a general introduction to the page, but a very short summary of it.

Background[edit source]

Problem Statement[edit source]

Criteria[edit source]

  • Change "Description" to "Constraint"

Construction[edit source]

Timeline[edit source]

  • Good start

Costs[edit source]

  • Good start - keep updating
  • add any donations
  • Consider a sortable table
  • Helpful to add an approximated $US column
  • Once budget is complete expand on your introduction

How To/Design[edit source]

  • Good start on the how to section.
  • Should be expanded with much more detail in the future.
  • The easier to follow and understand without searching for outside research the better.
  • Also, be sure to include at least one good design of your system.
