This project designed and analysed the voltage profile of a low voltage 415V, 50Hz distribution network of Western Power Distribution (National Grid), Dunkirk case study, a part of Nottingham Network, the network topology is given in Figure 1 [1]. The line consists of ten (10) equally distributed identical loads with a modern Distributed Generation (DG) facility connected to node three (3), the line and load impedances are shown in Table I [1]. The DG was used to inject active and reactive power independently into the network to provide voltage compensation down the line as discussed later in this report.
