The Community Website

Please use this Section to discuss the (new) community website.

I've been building websites with Joomla for some years now, and am familiar with Community Builder.I was planning to use these products to develop our community portal, but was advised to explore Drupal- however, I have no experience with Drupal. Does anyone else? Does anyone have an opinion about the advantages of each system?

If you are not experienced with Drupal and don't have a need to learn it (which will mean many, many hours), I would strongly recommend sticking with something you know which is relatively user-friendly. Also, maintaining the site on an ongoing basis is a serious task with Drupal. With WordPress (and I guess with Joomla) it's easier to maintain, and also easier to share the task with someone else, who doesn't need to have high level developer skills with that particular software.
I haven't used Drupal for years, but I'm told that the same issues still exist. Leave it for big projects with paid developers. --Chriswaterguy (talk) 16:16, 2 February 2015 (PST)
