Hello, I am SynAqua, and I'm new here, so please tell me if I'm making any mistakes!

First of all, I think a more nuanced view of industrial agriculture should be explained: While it's pretty undeniable that industrial agriculture as it's practised now is unsustainable, inefficient and wasteful, I think industrial food production not only can be sustainable . Furthermore, to me it seems that the evidence is basically clear that the modern world and the huge population of this world requires some form of industrial agriculture to feed everyone, as evidenced by the sources I give at the end of this post. Finally, by "industrial agriculture", I simply mean intensive farming using science-based and/or modern technologies - thus not excluding polyculture, terra preta, for better or for worse. With that said, I look forward to working with others here on this issue!

Nice to meet you. We would welcome your contributions. Please feel free to completely re-edit the Industrial agriculture. I, too, think it is myopic. Please note as you add content, to try to use the Help:Footnotes style to add citations. If you have any problems just ask for help and don't worry to much about formatting as edits are easy to make.
