::::Ah-ha, bingo that makes a lot more sense.  I'll make a page for the ChriswaterguyBot to notify the redirects which need bypassing.  Sorry, I was having a brain malfunction last night, I don't know why I didn't think of that.  Here's to reducing the number of low value pages.. I tried the search and replace strings for adding interwiki links with MyRegexTester on a small group of terms here. It worked just fine. I can add the rest this way without too much effort. I'll then remove them from the existing links. The next step would be for someone to decide if a red link here is worth keeping - a sufficiently "wanted page". If not, the red link can just be removed and the interwiki link will do. --RichardF 19:16, 17 April 2013 (PDT)

No redirects

I have redirected 4Rs to this glossary (woop). Problem is, how do you now stop it showing up as a page in the list? Joeturner 13:08, 17 April 2013 (PDT)

Do you mean like this?
 • 4Rs - (sustainability) reduce, reuse, recycle, recover (energy)...
--RichardF 14:00, 17 April 2013 (PDT)
Not really. If there is a redirect, there is a page. which might be a problem given the glossary is showing links (it is a blue link even though it just redirects back to the glossary). I made a new template which means that the blue link doesn't loop back to the glossary. I can't think of a better solution at the moment.. Joeturner 14:07, 17 April 2013 (PDT)
I see no need or value in linking to a self-referencing redirect. That's actually an incorrect use of the no redirect template. The actual link now should look like this.
*4Rs - which would display as I showed above.
 • 4Rs -

The related step for low importance redirect pages is to bypass all the redirects to them and then delete the redirect. I did that for 4Rs. --RichardF 16:51, 17 April 2013 (PDT)
Ah-ha, bingo that makes a lot more sense. I'll make a page for the ChriswaterguyBot to notify the redirects which need bypassing. Adding interwiki links with MyRegexTester
