Editing Extracting data from the ILC

The [http://web.archive.org/web/20190806233026/http://livebuilding.queensu.ca:80/ Live Building] is a living lab. The [http://engineering.queensu.ca/Integrated-Learning-Center.html Integrated Learning Centre]'s mechanical, electrical and structural systems are monitored in real-time and left open to view, to show how [[sustainable]] practices can be incorporated into building design.

One of the most advanced systems in the building is the [http://web.archive.org/web/20190806233026/http://livebuilding.queensu.ca:80/green_features/solar_array solar array].

The Information taken from the online interface for ILC irradiance data is of dubious quality, if using this data check both the continuity and stability of this data. Much more reliable data is available through the pyranometers on the roof of the Solar Calorimetry Lab in McLaughlin Hall, which is also accessible through Pi Processbook and PI Datalink with the keyword "SCL*".

PI Process book and Datalink are programs that can be utilized to view the data saved into the Livebuilding system. PI Processbook allows you to navigate the data in graphical form, while Datalink imports the server data into Microsoft Excel or Open Office.

== Tips ==

* When choosing time stamp ranges, choosing 't-24' to 't' will retrieve yesterdays data, where t is the midnight
* When performing tag searches, ignore data saved as 'test' or 'old'.

== Warnings ==

* During the winter, smoke from the cogeneration plant affects morning solar irradiation readings at the Solar Calorimetry Lab.
* Walter Light Hall data has a poorer resolution than the Solar Calorimetry Lab.
