Mixed seed methods
Interesting bit of info - the last claim is very significant if true:
- Variations on the latter approach are quite common in Permaculture and organic agriculture, for example the Fukuoka's method (One Straw Revolution) is based on broadcasting a mix of seeds, and I've heard of seed-saving networks (e.g. in India) distributing mixed seeds so that each farmer will - after a season or two - end up with a different crop optimised to their location. From what I've heard, yields of this mix quickly surpassed the one-genetic-clone type of seed bought from the big companies, because that could only be optimised for a single situation. - comment (by Mitra) on Vinay Gupta's post on WorldChanging, Three Approaches to Adaptive Agriculture

Category Position
Why is the Permaculture Category listed under "Agriculture", when it is much more than that? Should it not be listed under the "Green Living" section?

- Good point! It does have a big focus on food production though, so how about we put it in both categories? --Chriswaterguy 05:14, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
