I'm an artist, performer, and analogy addict with very little understanding of science, (with the exception of medical studies related to my type 1 diabetes). Since I worked in carpentry for 15 years, I've been very fascinated by sustainable methods, both new and traditional. I'm currently volunteering with Cooperation Humboldt, and other organizations in the region where I live (coastal Humboldt county, California, the traditional home of the Wiyot People). I see these nonprofit groups as essential for the human race (and other Earth-beings), which is why I love the Appropedia community, also! I'm not sure how to be useful here, but I'm eager to find out!
