A video of our Rube Goldberg project for Engineering 215: Intro to Design. This was in partnership with Green Campus. Team "Anaerobic Injesters" Group members: Jayde Daynard, Hesther Aw, and India Eichelbaugh-Goss
- Jayde Daynard
- I am an Environmental Resources Engineering student at Cal Poly Humboldt. I am a very curious person who teaches herself new hobbies, facts, actives, etc. when bored. As a result, I have experience in a wide variety of fields such as wood carving, drawing, jewelry making, sewing, construction, mechanics, writing, and more!
Interests in Engineering[edit | edit source]
- Water treatment
- Math involving force and moments
- Designing and implementing solutions to a problem
Experience in Engineering[edit | edit source]
- Water treatment; specifically maintaining daily record of chlorine and turbidity levels. This experience was gained through working on a maintenance crew for California Parks and Recreation.
- Construction of basic buildings and furniture. This experience was gained whole working on home projects with my dad, as well as building fixtures and sheds with California Parks and Recreation.
- Moderate electrical tasks, such as re-wiring a home with basic structure and at most one three-way switch. This experience was gained through working for my dad, who is a self-employed electrical contractor.
- Mechanics, such as working on vehicles, chainsaws, quads and off-road vehicles, and more. This experience was gained through working on my family's vehicles and machines with my dad and brothers. The extent of my knowledge is how to replace a transmission in a 1998 Dodge Dakota, as well as how to remove and re-install most undercarriage parts in order to get to the transmission on that vehicle.
- Moderate sewing skills, learned from a family friend and strengthened by innovation, curiosity, and boredom. I am able to make (mostly) functional articles of clothing.
- Design and construction of a Rube Goldberg project in partnership with Green Campus (see imbedded video) for my Introduction to Design class here at HSU
