I am an Undergraduate Electrical Engineering student at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) - Dubai. My expected graduation date is in May 2023. I am currently spending my last year at RIT's main campus in New York as part of the university's Global Scholars program. I am working on my capstone project in which my team and I are designing and building a smart, autonomous photovoltaic panel (PV) cleaning system. For most of my time at university I was the Electrical Systems Team Leader of RIT Dubai's Formula SAE team. I led a team of 6 students as we designed and built the high voltage battery and electronics of our own electric race car.
For one of my most recent, I was a Robotics Intern at Dubai Future Labs where I designed and 3D printed cooking tools with an object-robot interface to enable FRANKA EMIKA's robot arm to execute a simple recipe. for another internship I was a Strategy Intern at Siemens Energy where I worked with executives to develop project road maps and evaluate potential partners based on market research which I conducted. I was also a Research Intern at RIT Dubai's Electrical Engineering Department where I conducted literature review on existing methods for building an audio corpus.
I am passionate about energizing remote, low-income communities, especially in the Middle East, using solar energy. I want to design sustainable, low cost PV systems for applications that are suitable for off-grid communities, such as Microgrids. I am currently taking courses in Power Electronics and Advances in Power Systems in which I am learning how to model and optimize power generation systems.
