You can put an abstract (a brief description of your method) here and the text you would copy into an article.

Introduction[edit | edit source]

This recyclebot extrudes filament vertically. Material that is input into hopper must be granulated to ensure it will fit between auger and tube wall.

Safety[edit | edit source]

  • wear safety glasses (and dust mask if working with glass) while using recyclebot outside of a fume hood. these are not necessary if working under a fume hood.
  • when pushing material into hopper, make sure not to get your pushing utensil stuck in the auger. This will cause the recyclebot to stop and it is very difficult to remove utensil.

Equipment or Bill of Materials[edit | edit source]

  • Recyclebot
  • Plastic or composite material (after wood chipper) should be in a plastic cup for ease of feeding into hopper
  • Knife/screwdriver/long thin bar shaped object for pushing material into hopper

Calibration & Tolerances[edit | edit source]

Operation & Procedure[edit | edit source]

  1. plug recyclebot into wall
  2. turn on recyclebot by flipping the "main" switch downward
  • note: DO NOT touch the "motor" switch until target temperature is reached!!!
  1. set the temperature to the specific target temperature for your material
  2. fill the hopper about halfway with your material and use pushing utensil to feed into auger
  3. turn motor on by pressing "motor" switch downward
  4. continue pushing material into auger and adding when hopper level gets low
  5. when all material has gone through hopper (but some is still in auger) there is no need to continue pushing material through

Shutdown[edit | edit source]

  • turn off MOTOR FIRST
  • THEN turn off "main"
  • unplug
