DescriptionPresident Gloria Macapaga-Arroyo Inspection of the Jatropha Variety seeds, around 100 Jatropha growers.jpg
English: On the Jatropha Production this morning (July 21, 2008), the Jatropha seeds contain 30 percent oil that can be processed into high-quality bio-deisel fuel, usable in standard engine. Seed extraction is made simple with the use of the Universal Nut Sheller, an appropriate technology designed by the Full Belly project. Oil content varies from 28 percent to 30 percent and 94 percent extraction plantation will give 1.6 metric tonnes of oil if the soil is average. This event was held at the Jatropha Production Site Lanton in Barangay Apopong, General Santos City. The President will then proceed to Region XII for the Regional Disaster Coordinating Council (RDCC) meeting in Polo Molok, South Catabato.
