Car free day

From Appropedia
(Redirected from Car-Free Day)

Car free days are local events, sometimes held simultaneously in many places, promoting the idea of living without dependence on cars. World Carfree Day, for example, is held on September 22 every year.

The events promote improvement of mass transit, alternative transport especially cycling and walking, and the development of communities where jobs are close to home and shopping is within walking distance.
